Laura Villa serves as St. Paul’s office administrator, greeting families with warmth and ensuring every visitor feels welcomed. In her first year at St. Paul, she brings organizational precision, a servant’s heart, and deep appreciation for the opportunity to work among fellow believers.
One of seven children, Laura was born in Inglewood, and moved to Merced with her family when she was 1. She’s lived here ever since, building deep roots in the community.
After high school, Laura was convinced she would become a nurse. She started her education for a nursing degree and began working in the medical field. Then she got married and started her family right away. “But, the Lord knew I was going to be an at-home mama!” she says. Laura became a homeschooling mother and fell in love with the educational field — a passion that would eventually lead her to St. Paul.
Laura was excited to work for St. Paul because of its faith and foundation. “I love to be and work among other believers. It’s such a joy. There are some wonderful families here,” she shares.

As office administrator, Laura is the face of our school. When families walk through the door, her bright smile is their introduction to our school. “I am overjoyed to be the person that will personally assist you with all that you might need,” she explains. She greets prospective families and offers school tours, collects enrollment documents, and manages the countless details that keep the office running smoothly.
Four months into her role, Laura is still learning all that the position involves and she’s committed to supporting families to the best of her ability.
Her approach to life and work is guided by 1 Corinthians 9:24: “Run in such a way as to get the prize.” She explains, “I chose to live my life giving everything I have. It’s important to have no regrets and be the vessel the Lord uses to the best of my ability.” This commitment shows in everything she does — from her meticulous organization to her warm welcome of every visitor.
Outside of work, Laura loves gardening and is interested in holistics — learning what the Lord has created to strengthen and heal our bodies. She loves to sew, bake, and do as much “homemade” as possible. She enjoys singing on the church worship team, camping with her family, and making new memories and traditions whenever possible.
A fun fact many might not know: Though Laura sings on the worship team, she won’t sing freely in public. “I’m more introverted than you might think. I can sing for the Lord, an audience of One,” she says with a smile. This reveals the depth of her faith — her willingness to step beyond her comfort zone when serving God.
Though she hasn’t been at St. Paul long enough to create many memories yet, Laura already has a favorite. “Besides all of the sweet activities that are done here, I must say I’m a little partial to Chapel. I love to see all the students participate with confidence — to share, to sing, and ask great questions. What a wonderful group of children. To have a Chapel in school is such a special treat! I’m praising God for the opportunity.”
